| A typical reaction to any kind of food |
Dominic is now 7 months old and has started to show an interest in solids. Or he has an interest in grabbing them and trying to get them into his mouth. His usual reaction after that is violent gagging and ....
Like all babies, though, he does love to orally explore anything left on the floor and he never seems to mind what he finds there. So, I came up with a system for introducing new foods. We are going to throw food on the floor around the dining room table--only one new food per week!--and let him try them that way. So far he has been introduced to Cheetos, grass, and crayon packaging with perfect success.

LOVE HIS FACE!!!! And what is it with the floor and the food attraction?? Marion loves eating off the floor -- and since she can wiggle out of all buckles; I decided the floor was a safer eating spot for her. You know? Take them where they are at? So Dan was mortified when he saw me do this and forbid me to put food on the floor. So... I put Cheerios in a dog dish (that we use to teach the little kids how to wash tables) because if I put a bowl on the floor it would tip over. And no food is on the floor. Obedience, but yet: Shh... don't tell Dan. Not sure he'd like Option B.
Please share your technique for having only one kind of food on the floor at any given time!
Ah, well....any recommendations you have in that area would be appreciated, John.
